In Praise of Soup

By Julie

What a week it has been for the Soup Club! Our book was officially released and became available for sale on 1/13/2015, and we are still in awe of all the positive responses the book has gotten. We are so happy to hear that you all are loving our recipes, and embracing the idea of sharing food with friends and family.

In addition to the immense support friends, family and fans have shown us–The Soup Club Cookbook has been mentioned by all sorts of blogs and publications! We are so grateful to share our love of soup with you all, and glad people are spreading the word.

Fabulous and Frugal, a blog for thrifty foodies, spoke to the usefulness of soup:

Soup, of course, is a very frugal food.  It’s a great way to stretch extra produce and meats, and can easily be scaled up or down.  And most soups freeze beautifully, adding yet another dimension to this fab frugality.

Not only does soup help stretch a dollar, it can also feed everyone from various diets! PopSugar called attention to our yummy Mushroom Soup with Cashew Cream, one of our cookbooks vegan options.

[Mushroom Soup is] Earthy, rich, and creamy, it’s just the thing for mid-Winter dinners as it’s both comforting and cozy but also not something you’ll feel guilty tucking into after a season of holiday excess.

We were also very touched to receive a shout-out by a local cheese shop, Saxelby Cheesemongers, that we have patronized for over 8 years (they have the best selection!)

This incredible book tells the story of how these four women–all mothers and working professionals, started a soup club to share the love (and the load) of cooking to feed their four families.

I hope you all are enjoying the our book as well! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
